The work, duties and powers of the Academic Council shall be as follows:-
(a) To determine and approve the curriculum of the University,
(b) prescribing the type of examination to be conducted under the University,
(c) Determining and maintaining the academic quality of the university (d) Formulating policy on research and sanctioning research programmes,
(e) determining the qualifications required for admission to the subjects to be studied and taught in the University, the number of students admitted and the basis for admission,
(f) To advise the Executive Council on academic matters,
(g) To recommend to the Assembly for honorary degrees to be conferred by the University,
(h) To do other work as prescribed.
